Financial Aid Challenges for Study Abroad

Presentation Description:

 In this session, presenters will share common hurdles and challenges for students to fund their study abroad programs. Participants will share their own challenges and possible solutions related to current financial aid/funding issues. Presenters will provide an overview of existing regulations, identify current challenges, and discuss ways to support students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide examples of the types of financial aid for study abroad programs- federal, state, institutional examples, and scholarships
  • Describe various financial aid regulations and how they may impact education abroad.
  • Discuss major rules concerning the use of aid - disbursements, budgets, SAP, etc.
