Krista McCallum Beatty is the director of the Office for International Students and Scholars at Michigan State University; she has over 20 years of experience in international education, working in both international student and scholar services and education abroad. Dr. McCallum Beatty's previous NAFSA leadership experience includes serving as Chair for KCISSS, Chair for the NAFSA Academy and as the KCISSS representative and Academy Coach for Region VI. She is a past member of the Trainer Corps and has facilitated numerous NAFSA workshops. Dr. McCallum Beatty has also presented multiple times at NAFSA regional and annual conferences.
Dr. McCallum Beatty has lived and studied/worked in Austria, Ecuador, the United Kingdom, and Germany and has traveled extensively. She has a bachelor degree from the University of Minnesota, a master degree from the School for International Training, and a doctoral degree from Ohio University. Dr. McCallum Beatty is a past participant in the Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) seminar in Germany. She received a second Fulbright Award to conduct her dissertation research on the experiences of international students at German Universities.
