Jim Brosam II. is currently a doctoral student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research interests are examining engagement of international alumni and global fundraising for universities in the US. His topics of focus within these two areas include the use of technology for global fundraising, cultural differences and perceptions of philanthropy, and fundraising training programs development for international educators. Brosam is a 25-year veteran in the field of international education. He founded Jameson Global, an international education consulting company that operates “J-Check” a nation-wide testing service that assists universities with documentation of English proficiency of incoming J-Scholars. He also served as the President of iTEP International from 2019 – 2022. Working on several university campuses, Brosam has served in the positions of Director of International Programs as well as Associate Vice President of International Affairs. During this period, he worked closely with the University’s Office of Institutional Advancement to create and fully fund several private, international-related scholarships including one for Thai Graduate Students, an International Student Emergency fund, and several domestic study abroad scholarships. Brosam has directed international student recruitment and domestic study abroad programs in over 40 countries. He is an active member of NAFSA recently serving on the Member Engagement Committee (MEC) as well as the Leadership Development Committee (LDC). Brosam is currently co-coordinator of the 2023-2024 International Educators of Illinois (IEI) Mentorship Program.
