Elizabeth O’Brien is the International Program Coordinator at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In her role, Elizabeth supports international students studying at Kirkwood on grant sponsored programs in addition to creating on-campus programing to support internationalization efforts. She is especially passionate about connecting students with community organizations to increase engagement with the local community and support student development. Prior to her role at Kirkwood, she assisted planning short term cultural exchange programs at Greenheart International. While originally from Chicago, IL, she headed north to Northern Michigan University, completing her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish.
