In this interactive session, you will hear strategies for creating campus partnerships and leveraging resources to expand study abroad participation on your campus. Topics explored will include working with financial aid and other departments to reach underrepresented students, funding mechanisms, advocating for your office with institutional leadership, and tailored strategies to support and promote study abroad for underrepresented populations. Come ready to participate and share your ideas in this workshop style session!

Learning Objectives:

  • This session will equip attendees with resources and real examples to promote collaboration with various stakeholders on their campuses such as financial aid, study abroad, career services, and veteran services.
  • Attendees will learn strategies focused on reaching students with high financial need, first-generation students, men, STEM, and other underrepresented students in education abroad.
  • Attendees will learn strategies for advocating for resources with institutional leadership and ways to obtain external funding and opportunities for the campus.
