During the presentation, attendees will learn about destigmatizing international student hiring from the perspective of F and J Work Authorization. This presentation will discuss equitable practices along with cross-cultural career development strategies for advisors to share with students, university departments, and employers, share case studies, and facilitate discussion of DEI practices implemented at other institutions.

Learning Objectives:

  • Dispel myths about hiring international students with F and J visas.
  • Considerations for advisors to prepare students on advocating for themselves when experiencing non-inclusive practices in the hiring process.
  • Provide considerations for campus units and employers on the future of students with F and J work authorization.
