H-1B: What DSOs/AROs do (and don’t) need to know

This session aims to equip DSOs and AROs who do not file H-1B petitions with knowledge of the basics of H-1B regulations, eligibility criteria, the registration (lottery) system, and the filing process. It focuses on H-1B challenges, such as the timing of the annual lottery registration, 212(e) waiver), and intersections with F-1/J-1/SEVIS. While DSOs/AROs are not responsible for advising students on H-1Bs, the session will help them be knowledgeable advisors to students/scholars who are navigating options beyond their current immigration status.
