Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the Basics of J-1 Status: Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the J-1 program, including its purpose, eligibility requirements, and the different categories of J-1 exchange visitors.
  • Navigate Common Challenges and Regulations: Participants will be able to identify and address common issues and regulatory requirements associated with J-1 status. This includes understanding compliance obligations, such as maintaining legal status, reporting requirements, incident reporting, etc.
  • Apply Knowledge to Case Studies: Participants will apply their understanding of J-1 regulations and policies to real-life case studies. This involves analyzing scenarios involving J-1 status issues, determining appropriate actions and solutions, and discussing best practices for resolving common problems faced by J-1 exchange visitors and their sponsors.
